Why Does This Man Look So Miserable?
Is it because he just lost his 25-year gig as a Utah judge? Nope — he still has his truck driving job.
It's because the former judge, Walter Steed, has three wives. Not two former wives and one current one. The man has . . . three . . . wives.
Oh yes, and 32 children. Fitting name, Steed.
And just to make things really interesting, all the women are sisters.
Bigamy is frowned upon in Utah, which is why the Utah Supreme Court transformed Judge Steed into the former judge Steed.
Steed also faces five years in prison and up to $5,000 in fines.
I think that's overkill. Clearly the man has suffered enough.

Now what I want to know is why we women can't have a bunch of brothers! (kidding)
The all sisters part is kind of icky.

Polygamy is un-American.
But Utah is uber-American.
Marrying sisters is un-American.
Yet strictly interpreting the Constitution is so American, it's not even funny.
I'm so torn on this issue, I feel like John Kerry.

Lily, women are too smart to be polygamists. I mean, look at how miserable the poor bastard is in that picture.
C'mon, Rex, don't tell me a Bush lover like yourself doesn't dream about having Jenna and Barbara bear your uber-American babies.

Ha! Loved the joke about the man clearly suffering enough, but I bet we had different ideas in mind.
The man has 32 children? Is he nuts? Can you imagine what that household will be like when they all start entering puberty and their hormones go nuts?

Yep, sure isn't much quiet time in that household. All I have is two cats, and they alone are enough to make me crazy.

32 children?
Jesus. What, each woman had upwards of 10 kids?
God help them.
