The Criminals Circle the Wagons

The Guardian:

By commuting Libby's sentence, Bush protected himself and his vice president from potential criminal exposure for their actions in the CIA Leak. As such, Libby's commutation is nothing short of another obstruction of justice.

Maybe if the so-called opposition party hadn't been in such a hurry to brush impeachment off the table, there might still be a shred of respect for the rule of law in this White House.

The Guardian's post is a pretty good summary of the whole mess, if you've got the stomach for it.

Comments

The Guardian's post is written by Michigan's own, Marcy Wheeler, and she's done a great job of sorting this out and helping the public to understand.

On to Bush, I'm so outraged that I sent him and Cheney e-mails today calling for them to resign. I got the idea from Keith Olbermann who said he will have a "Special Comment" on tonight's show calling for their resignations, and although I know that is unlikely to happen, I wanted them both to know how ashamed I am of what they've done to our country.

People used to tell their children it was a noble ambition to grow up to be president. Not anymore. Bush, Cheney and the rest of those neo-cons have thumbed their noses at law and order and declared they are above the law.

It is sad to watch this slow train wreck in progress, isn't it.

That's one of the reasons these last 6 years have been so much worse than Watergate. We only learned of the Watergate events - dirty tricks, cover-ups, etc. - after the fact. Today, we're watching the abuses as they happen, and no one seems able or willing to stop it.
