What a Rush
The other day I was doing some radio slumming and tuned into Rush Limbaugh, when a whining dittohead called in about WMDs in Iraq:
Whining Dittohead: I don't get it, Rush. Why are liberals getting away with saying there were no WMDs in Iraq? What about those 500 canisters, Rush?
Pompous Dickhead: [Slow, ominous, insinuating] You don't hear much about those, now do you?
Whining Dittohead: No you sure don't, Rush. How come? And, damn, even the administration won't admit they found WMDs. Why, Rush? Why?
Pompous Dickhead: You know, I think you're onto something here, my friend. It's almost as if the administration is afraid to tell the truth about the WMDs. Now you know and I know, there were WMDs in Iraq. There's just no doubt about it. The country was littered with 'em. But then they were spirited away, to Syria, in Russian trucks.
Now that's what's been said, and I don't know if it's true, but wouldn't it make sense that the administration would rather pretend the WMDs didn't exist than risk insulting the Russians? Sure, that would explain it, wouldn't it? You bet it would.
And that's all it takes — a brief, wholly fabricated, skillfully crafted Rush Limbaugh leap of logic, and the millions of dittoheads who hang on his every bombastic word will be ready to tear your face off if you so much as suggest it might not be true.

No one ever said voters were smart. Limbaugh is a marketing genius and he's made a lot of money because of these dittoheads. I bet he laughs at them behind their backs.

Being dipped in beer batter isn't a bad way to go. ;-)
Cartledge, you don't know what you're missing by not having Limbaugh in your radio range. He's a real trip.

I think he must, Kathy, and those pathetic souls deserve it.
Limbaugh's a strange character - he's a pompous buffoon, but he's also hypnotically persuasive to a hell of a lot of people. His distortions have done a lot of harm to this country.

I worked for many years by myself in a job outside and listened to radio headphones. When Limbacile first started in syndication in '88 I listened in with morbid curiosity. Since a lot of the time his program was the only clear signal I basically monitored him for years, and now I know the fool.
I could give you a ton of stories, but here's just one - when he first started he wasn't sure at all that his pre planned shtick would work. A couple of times I distinctly remember him urging listeners "You better put your hip waders on for this one, folks".

Yes, exactly, and that's why he's so dangerous, nolocontendere. He claims to be just an entertainer, and that allows him to say outlandish things. Yet he knows damn well that people believe him.
He must wake up every day thanking god that people can be so gullible.
