One Branch and Two Tiny Twigs

I've long been wondering why we have a Congress. A quick trip to Staples to buy a few rubber stamps would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

But now I'm beginning to wonder why we have a Supreme Court:

Hearings for terror suspects before US military tribunals in Guantanamo are going ahead despite a Supreme Court ruling that affirmed detainees have a right to challenge their detention in a civilian court.

Probably to try and destroy Habeus, which they almost succeeded in doing the other day, the jackals.

Nolo, if McCain wins in November, we're all in trouble for just the kind of reason you cite. But I honestly don't see McCain having any chance to win.

Stuff like this certainly doesn't help our standing with the rest of the world. Mark my words, the day will come when some of our citizens are held captive and treated this way, and when we object, the rest of the world will laugh at us.

No doubt, Kathy. I'm afraid a lot of the stuff we've been doing for the last 7+ years is going to come back to haunt us.
