Stimulation of the Primal Kind
So what are you doing with your economic stimulus check?
According to the Adult Internet Market Research Company, lots of Americans are using their checks to stimulate something other than the economy:
"Many of the [adult web] sites we surveyed have reported 20-30% growth in membership rates since mid-May when the checks were first sent out, and typically the summer is a slow period for this market."
And according to Think Progress, who quoted a representative of one such site of delight:
"...thirty two percent of respondents referenced the recent stimulus package as part of their decision to either become a new member, or renew an existing membership."
Hardly what the administration intended, you say? I'm not sure I agree. Helping millions of Americans indulge in porn is a great way to keep their minds off the fact that they're getting screwed.

Well, I think they knew their "stimulus checks" were just a way to calm the economic ruffled feathers for a bit, but they didn't count on all the inflation I suppose.

Sure, that's all it was. A tax rebate is just an admission that the tax policy is screwed up - in this case, the majority of Americans are paying higher taxes to subsidize the lower tax rates of the wealthy. So they give us this temporary cash, which causes an unnatural jolt in the economy. But the unbalanced tax policy remains the same.
