The Widening Gyre
US special forces entered Syria today in pursuit of "foreign fighters linked to al-Qaeda." Eight Syrians were killed and seven more were wounded, including the foreign fighter shown here, in his disguise as a woman. Four of the dead fighters were disguised as children.
The Syrian government claims that all the dead and wounded were civilian workers or relatives of workers at the building where they were gunned down.
