Wishy Washy
On the one hand, the investigation into Sarah Palin's firing of the Alaskan Public Safety Commissioner found (pdf) that Palin "abused her power by violating...the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act."
On the other, the investigation found that Palin's firing of the commissioner was "proper and lawful."
How can an act that violates an ethics law be lawful?
But putting that conundrum aside, the fact that an investigation launched with the unanimous consent of the bipartisan Joint Legislative Council (10 Republicans, 4 Democrats) found Palin guilty of using her authority to carry out a personal vendetta should be damning as far as the presidential election is concerned. It shows not only that Palin lacks the integrity to be Vice President (or hold any other office that represents a public trust), but also that McCain's lack of judgment in selecting her makes him unfit to be President.
Or does it? Obama supporters certainly think so. McCain supporters certainly don't. What matters is what the undecided voters think. My personal opinion — people who are still undecided at this late date don't really get what abuse of authority is all about.

Like I said on my blog...ethics violations are ONLY infractions..you know, like the Keating Five bit McSame got.
But it should put a chill down the spine of every voter in America..it shows us they will do anything to achieve their goals.

I hear you, Dusty. That millions of voters overlook "mere" ethics violations is the most troubling thing about this.
Cart, when Palin goes back to Alaska on November 5th,there's going to be hell to pay for those accusations against her.
