President Donald Trump made headlines on Wednesday when he walked out of a meeting with Democratic leaders after they refused to negotiate on the border wall.

However, some are describing what Trump said as he exited the meeting as “legendary.”

Trump reportedly asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) if Democrats were going to provide funding for the wall. Pelosi responded, “No.”

“Bye-bye,” Trump said as he walked out of the meeting.

In a tweet posted immediately after the meeting, Trump said his time with the Democrats was a total waste of time.

“Just left a meeting with Chuck and Nancy, a total waste of time,” Trump tweeted.

He continued: “I asked what is going to happen in 30 days if I quickly open things up, are you going to approve Border Security which includes a Wall or Steel Barrier? Nancy said, NO. I said bye-bye, nothing else works!”

Sen. Schumer claimed the president threw a "tantrum," an account that was quickly disputed.

"We saw a temper tantrum because he couldn't get his way, and he just walked out of the meeting,” Schumer said.

It seems Democrats just aren't prepared to deal with a real negotiator.

Should Trump continue to stand firm in the face of Democratic opposition to the border wall?
