The hosts of ABC’s “The View” got into a heated clash on Friday over CNN reporter Jim Acosta’s infamous confrontation with President Donald Trump and a female White House intern.

Acosta has been accused by critics of “assaulting” the female intern. Meanwhile, the White House has revoked his “hard pass” to the White House for putting his hands on the woman at all.

For context, here's the video of Acosta's interaction with the female intern:

However, host Sunny Hostin offered a different theory on Thursday.

She said it was actually the female intern who assaulted Acosta, not the other way around.

“If you’re holding something and you snatch this from me, this cup is now an extension of me, and that means you’ve battered me, you’ve assaulted me,” Hostin said.

A visibly stunned Abby Huntsman responded, “So, you’re blaming the woman in this situation?”

Co-host Meghan McCain then asked Hostin if she was literally claiming it was the woman’s fault for “doing her job.”

“I’m just telling you the law,” Hostin said.

“That White House intern should be arrested for battery,” McCain said sarcastically. “You better arrest her.”
