With all the political battles surrounding the President of the United States, the media squabbles, the international bantering, and the daily decision-making that affects not just our country but the world, it can be easy to forget that President Trump is also, like many people in the country, a proud grandpa to some adorable grandkids.
Photographers captured Trump and his family disembarking from the Marine One helicopter at the White House on Monday after a weekend away in New Jersey. According to USA Today, the first family — including Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner — took a break at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Well, it was sort of a break. Protesters lined the road near the resort screaming “Where are the children?” even though the Trump administration has been reuniting families while also working to boost border security.
The president did spend time tweeting, too, about some hot-button issues, including border issues, like when he wrote, “We must have Border Security, get rid of Chain, Lottery, Catch & Release Sanctuary Cities — go to Merit based Immigration. Protect ICE and Law Enforcement and, of course, keep building, but much faster, THE WALL!”
But Trump walked off the helicopter looking like a proud grandpa as he held the hand of his granddaughter Arabella. The seven-year-old is the oldest of Ivanka and Jared’s three children. Arabella's brothers, Joseph and Theodore, are four and two.
While some Trump haters used the photos as an opportunity to call the president vile names, other Twitter users found them adorable.
Arabella, probably tired of the cameras stalking her, also made funny faces at photographers while eating ice cream with her mom in Washington, D.C. a few days before the weekend getaway.
