After Bernie Demands Disney Donate ‘Avengers’ Profits, Someone Had Perfect Comeback

Disney’s epic “Avengers: Endgame” movie has been more hotly anticipated than any film since “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” Now it looks like Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is trying to capitalize on that popularity to draw more attention to his own campaign after Joe Biden stole the spotlight.

And someone had the perfect comeback for him.

The fervor behind the latest Marvel movie has been practically religious, with one woman in China even getting hospitalized after sobbing uncontrollably in the theater when the movie came on the screen. According to The News International, the 21-year-old was rushed to the hospital after she started hyperventilating with uncontained emotion.

Bernie’s been hoping for that same fervor to surround him again this time around, and he decided to try to snatch some attention by insisting Disney give away its massive profits from the film.

“What would be truly heroic is if Disney used its profits from Avengers to pay all of its workers a middle class wage, instead of paying its CEO Bob Iger $65.6 million — over 1,400 times as much as the average worker at Disney makes,” millionaire Bernie wrote on Twitter.

He was replying to a Bloomberg story touting the movie’s new box office records. Another Bloomberg article mentioned that the “Avengers” film brought in $1.2 billion in its global debut.

“Bernie, please lead by example and start by giving back that pile of $ you made from those books to the average workers who shipped & sold those books at Amazon & Barnes & Noble,” Soho Forum director Gene Epstein shot back.

Nice one. Epstein is a well-known economist and libertarian. And he wasn’t the only one making that point.

And then someone pointed out how much of an utter failure Bernie’s plan to spread the wealth on Disney’s “Avengers” profit would be.

And then someone had to mention this:

Whoops. Try again, Bernie!
