The anti-Trump harassers have struck again, this time in the form of the Loalle Democratic Socialists of America ambushing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) as he left a local restaurant. And it appears to have happened to him again at a second eatery.
These types of incidents dramatically increased after Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) called for members of the Trump administration to be harassed and even blocked from access to restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations until President Trump ended the policy of separating families after they illegally cross the border — something he and Republicans have already been working on changing with no help from Democrats in Congress.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, and White House Adviser Kellyanne Conway have already been subject to this form of attack. And it’s not just been verbal attacks on officials.
A 30-year-old man was arrested after stealing a teen’s “Make America Great Again” hat and throwing a drink in his face. And on the Fourth of July, a Florida man says he was punched and dragged by a car after a thug got upset with him for displaying a “Trump: Make America Great Again” flag.
In the incident on Saturday, a small group of agitators chased McConnell as he left Louisville’s Bristol Bar & Grille, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. They shouted at him, making demands about illegal border crossers and calling him derogatory names.
“Vote you out! Vote you out!” the socialists bellowed at him as he walked to his car without confronting them. “Abolish ICE!”
“We know where you live, too, Mitch! We know where you live!” one of the agitators shouted threateningly in the full Facebook video.
“No comfort for fascists! No justice! No peace!” a couple more yelled.
It was the second time the Senator minority leader has been ambushed. A group of protesters started shouting accusations at him outside Georgetown University late last month until his wife, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao, shouted them down.
The Louisville DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) said on Twitter that “people like Mitch deserve no peace while they enable the imprisonment of babies in concentration camps.” They claimed in a statement that the guy who shouted “We know where you live” is not one of their members but insisted he was referring simply to a future peaceful protest outside McConnell’s house.
McConnell was reportedly also run out of Sarino’s — a Louisville Italian restaurant — Sunday night by trivia night patrons at the Four Pegs Beer Lounge across the street.
