Controversial Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti has been arrested for alleged domestic violence in Los Angeles.
“The alleged incident occurred Tuesday and a report was taken, police said,” Local ABC affiliate KABC-TV reported.
Avenatti was put into handcuffs and arrested by officers on Wednesday.
Specific details about the alleged domestic violence incident were not immediately released by police.
However, TMZ released horrifying details from its own law enforcement sources.
"Our law enforcement sources say Avenatti was arrested Wednesday after a woman filed a felony DV report. We're told her face was 'swollen and bruised' with 'red marks' on both cheeks," TMZ reported.
The report added, "Our sources say the alleged incident occurred Tuesday night, but there was another confrontation Wednesday between the two at an exclusive apartment building in the Century City area of L.A."
The alleged victim also reportedly threatened to get a restraining order against Avenatti.
Avenatti, an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump, is representing Daniels in her quest to override a non-disclosure agreement she signed in 2016.
The Democrat also represented one of the women who accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct, Julie Swetnick. His client’s allegations quickly fell apart on national television.
Prior to his arrest, there had been speculation on the left that Avenatti might run for president against Trump in 2020. Such a scenario now seems unlikely.
