Actor Chris Pratt continues to showcase his Christian faith, even as Hollywood grows more and more hostile to religion.
Pratt was invited to read Luke’s Gospel this year at Disneyland’s famous Candlelight ceremony — and he did not disappoint.
After reading the story of the birth of Jesus Christ from the Bible, Pratt offered his own personal story about discovering God’s amazing love for his children.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it was really my honor to share this beautiful Candlelight ceremony with all of you. It’s been a very special and inspiring night,” Pratt said.
He continued, “For me, being a parent has really changed my life in so many ways. And one of those ways is to understand, truly, the love that a father could have for a child.”
Pratt then drew the connection between a father’s love for his children and God’s love for mankind.
"When I stare at this precious little creation of mine here, and I watch the ways in which he tries to please me, I just fill with a love that I feel is so pure, and unending," Pratt said. "The way we love our children, the more we love our children, the more we will understand the capacity for our Father in heaven to love us.”

He went on to proclaim that “each and every one of us a precious creation, and he just marvels in the ways that we can try to please Him.”
“That should give us a great deal of comfort. I know it does for me,” he concluded. "This holiday season, let us embrace every one of our tomorrows with hope and love. And through this holiday spirit may we continue to spread peace and goodwill throughout the world. Thank you, and Merry Christmas!"
Amen, Mr. Pratt. Amen.
