Cindy Garcia, a U.S. citizen, underwent a life-changing event in January when immigration officials detained and deported her husband for being in the country illegally. However, her reaction to the incident is raising eyebrows nationwide.

During an interview on CNN on Tuesday, Garcia was asked if she is mad at the U.S. government and President Donald Trump for what happened to her husband. Her answer likely came as a surprise to many CNN viewers.

"I am not upset at our gov due to the fact that I am a U.S. Citizen and that our laws come first,” Garcia said. “Our laws are just broken and need to be fixed but I can't be mad at Trump for doing his job because that is his job, to protect us as U.S. citizens from criminals.”

While Garcia argued Trump is merely enforcing federal immigration laws, she also said the laws need to be “fixed” to protect people like her husband who are not criminals.

Visibly surprised by her stance, CNN anchor Brooke responded, "A lot of people would be critical of this administration, I'm not hearing criticism from you."

President Trump has taken a tough stance on illegal immigration and cracking down on violent gangs like MS-13.

"Put pressure on the Democrats to end the horrible law that separates children from there parents once they cross the Border into the U.S. Catch and Release, Lottery and Chain must also go with it and we MUST continue building the WALL! DEMOCRATS ARE PROTECTING MS-13 THUGS," he recently tweeted.
