Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has called for massive tax hikes and tax rates as high as 70 precent for “tippy-top” income earners in the U.S. She says she wants people and corporations to pay their “fair share.”

However, she might want to pay the taxes she owes first before asking others to pay even more.

It was recently revealed that a company founded by AOC still owes nearly $2,000 in unpaid taxes.

In 2012, socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) founded Brook Avenue Press, a company that published children’s books in New York City. Years later, she was running for Congress and the company failed to pay all of its taxes.

“Brook Avenue Press, a company she founded in 2012 to publish children’s books in The Bronx, owes the state $1,870.36 in corporate taxes, public records show,” the New York Post reported.

The report added: “The state slapped the company with a warrant on July 6, 2017, two months after Ocasio-Cortez announced her candidacy to run against Democratic incumbent Joe Crowley for the district that encompasses parts of Queens and The Bronx.”

Maybe it was just an oversight, right? Unlikely, according to a New York City accountant.

“The company probably got numerous letters from the state and probably ignored them,” the accountant told the Post.

A spokesman for AOC dodged the issue when asked about it, saying “This is the first we’re hearing of it, and we won’t have any additional comment until we look into it.”

Remember, the rules are never apply to the socialist, only the people.
