A Texas Democrat reveled a harsh truth during an interview on CNN Monday, admitting that the ongoing child migrant crisis was “kept very quiet” under the Obama administration.

Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Texas) told CNN that the images being shared to attack President Donald Trump are very similar to what was going on when Obama was in the White House.

“I released some of those photos because it was kept very quiet under the Obama administration. There were large numbers of people coming in. The Obama administration was trying to keep this quiet,” Cuellar said.

Cuellar also explained that some of the children who are being housed in detention centers actually came alone and weren’t separated from their families, despite some of the media reporting.

“It's not a matter that every single child that we have in those centers are being separated because some of them are coming alone,” the Democrat added.

His fellow Democrats recently pulled a publicity stunt, showing up at a detention center in New Jersey and demanding that immigration officials let them see some of the detainees.

President Trump has publicly called on Democrats to join Republicans in passing comprehensive immigration reform to end the child migrant crisis on the border.

"It is the Democrats fault for being weak and ineffective with Boarder Security and Crime. Tell them to start thinking about the people devastated by Crime coming from illegal immigration," the president tweeted. "Change the laws!"

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders also said Monday that Trump is not satisfied with "kicking the can down the road" on immigration reform like past presidents. He wants to fix the problem, she said.
