HAH! Bizarre Dem Candidate Running for 2020 Because Other Choices are ‘Insane’

There are 20-odd Democrats running in the 2020 presidential race. Now one more has entered the contest, but this one is particularly bizarre.

Claiming that he’s “running for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination because all their current candidates are insane,” Ami Horowitz has thrown his hat into the race.

If you've never heard of him, you might be looking at the wrong side of the political aisle. He considers himself — and is considered by others — to be more conservative than liberal.

You might remember him from his short films on YouTube, like the time he ran around the campus of UC Berkeley with an American flag and an ISIS flag to see which one got more hate: the American flag did.

Or the time he did man-on-the-street interviews testing liberals if they could tell the difference between the Democratic Party’s platform and the communist manifesto. Or when he recently asked black people outside of college campuses — as well as a member of the KKK — what they thought about increasing racial self-segregation on campuses.

In his campaign announcement video on Wednesday, the Orthodox Jew said that “the Democratic Party has become the party of socialism, open borders, and late-term abortions.”

“They’ve become so radicalized over the past several years, that I feel compelled to try to bring some sanity into the discussion,” he continued.

And then he revealed the true purpose of his run, saying, “In order for me to qualify to get on the Democratic debate stage, I need to raise money from 65,000 individual donors. Even a single dollar will do.”

“So if you want me to throw an intellectual hand grenade on the Democratic debate stage, and hold them accountable, go to AmiForAmerica.com and donate some money.”

So many people immediately went to his website that it crashed multiple times on Wednesday from the high volume of web traffic.

Horowitz has already received some endorsements, including from conservative commentator Ben Shapiro.
