Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) has often been compared with her socialist friend Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) for saying things that make people question whether she really has America’s best interests in mind.
Ocasio-Cortez has clearly stated that she wants to fundamentally change how America works and vastly increase the influence of the federal government in our lives with her Green New Deal, which not only demands drastic changes to battle climate change but would also, if implemented, turn the U.S. into one of the most socialist states in the world.
Omar said during a recent interview that we need to follow AOC’s lead and fundamentally change the way U.S. foreign policy works, according to her state’s largest newspaper, the Star Tribune.
"When I think about foreign policy, we need something equivalent to the Green New Deal," the congresswoman said during an interview.
And then she said, "It's important for me to think about what an overhaul of our foreign policy should look like from the standpoint of really thinking how it impacts those around the world, and where our values intersect with what's happening.”
What she didn’t say in that statement, however, that the primary focus of a U.S. foreign policy should be how it impacts Americans. Instead, she went right to the negative, painting America as a country that is always messing things up in the world rather than being the greatest voice for freedom and prosperity.
"We spend a lot of money in engaging unwinnable wars, and I don't think it matches with the values of trying to create prosperity in the United States," she added.
The Somali-born congresswoman also noted that she also brings “the perspective of a foreigner” to the House Foreign Affairs Committee that she’s a part of.
There was also that time in April when she appeared to side with America’s enemies in the deadly “Black Hawk Down” battle.
Omar also blamed the U.S. for the crisis in Venezuela and accused the U.S. of “bullying” the oppressive socialist regime.
And she referred to Hamas terrorists as “protesters” and painted Israel as the aggressor as it tried to defend itself against constant — and deadly — Hamas attacks.
She recently mocked Jews who gathered to protest her anti-Semitic comments.
And this is the woman who is advising America on how to completely redo its foreign policies.
