Thanksgiving Day is a quintessentially American holiday, but there are those in other parts of the world who celebrate it to by giving thanks that America is a such a strong ally for peace, freedom, and prosperity in the world.
One of those people is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“Happy Thanksgiving to our great friends — the people of America,” said Netanyahu in a video message posted on social media. “Thanksgiving is a great time to be with your family and your loved ones, to rejoice, to count your blessings.”
“We count our blessing on having this extraordinary friendship with the United States of America,” he continued. “We give thanks to that every day. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.”

His message was well received by many Americans who replied on Twitter:
During a White House ceremony on Tuesday where President Trump pardoned two turkeys — Peas and Carrots — he expressed that Thanksgiving “is a time for Americans to unite together in a spirit of love, understanding, unity, and joy, as one very proud American family.
He also took a moment to thank our service members, telling the crowd, "As we gather together this week with those we love, we share our gratitude to all of those who spend this holiday very, very far from home, serving in our military overseas."
Share if you are thankful to our ally Israel, too!
