Kaepernick Stabs Nike in the Back Days After They Award Him With Major Deal

Failed NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick is already stiffing Nike, just days after inking a major deal that will net him millions of dollars.

Nike sparked controversy after the company selected Kaepernick to be the face of its new “Just Do It” campaign. As part of the lucrative deal, Nike reportedly committed to creating Kaepernick’s own clothing line.

“The source says Nike will feature Kaepernick on several platforms, including billboards, television commercials and online ads. Nike also will create an apparel line for Kaepernick and contribute to his Know Your Rights charity,” CBS San Francisco reported.

So Nike might be frustrated to know Kaepernick is selling his own jerseys — and they aren’t Nike brand.

“Colin Kaepernick selling jerseys on his website for $175, 20% of proceeds going to @yourrightscamp. Not made by Nike,” ESPN’s Darren Rovell tweeted.

After the controversy came to light, Kaepernick promised that 100 percent of the profits would go to his charity.

“Thank you 2 each & every 1 of you that supported this journey,” he tweeted. “The Official Limited Edition #IMWITHKAP jersey released today instantly sold out! ALL PROFITS will go 2 support @yourrightscamp! Sign up 4 our newsletter at http://Kaepernick7.com  & be the first 2 know what’s next!”

Regardless, none of the profits will be shared with his new business partner, Nike.

Even though Kaepernick once said he refused to respect or stand for this country, he certainly appears to be enjoying the benefits of capitalism.
