Kim Kardashian will reportedly meet with Trump administration officials at the White House on Wednesday to talk about prison reform.
The surprising development comes weeks after controversial rapper Kanye West went public with his support of President Donald Trump. West met with Trump in 2016.
It’s still unclear whether Kardashian will meet with Trump personally. However, she is set to sit down with senior adviser Jared Kushner.
Kardashian has recently been advocating for the pardon of a drug offender Matthew Charles, who was released from prison in 2016. After building a new life for himself, a court ruled his term was reduced in error and ordered him back to jail.
“This man is sentenced to 35 yrs for selling drugs. He serves over 21 yrs, is released, finds a job, new relationship, starts a new life, & now is being sent back for another 10 yrs because the original release was an error. This man has completely rehabilitated himself. So sad,” Kardashian tweeted.
Prison reform remains a top issue for Kushner too.
"Prison reform has been a key issue for Kushner. Earlier this month, the White House-backed First Step Act, which would expand programs for prisoners and allow for more home confinement, was approved by the House Judiciary Committee," CNN reported.
