Former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke, one of the most notorious racists in U.S. history, revealed his pick for the “most important member of Congress” on Thursday — and it’s not a Republican.

Duke heaped praise on Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) for her stance on Israel.

"Dr Duke & Eric Striker: By Defiance to Z.O.G. Ilhan Omar is NOW the most important Member of the US Congress!" Duke tweeted.

Don’t expect wall-to-wall media coverage like you would get if Duke had endorsed a Republican with such strong language.

Ben Shapiro made the observation in hilarious fashion.

“I'm old enough to remember when David Duke's and Richard Spencer's opinions of Donald Trump and Steve King were important enough for the mainstream media to cover,” he tweeted. “Odd that they've suddenly lost their Twitter handles when it comes to Ilhan Omar.”

He added:

Omar recently came under fire for a number of anti-Semitic remarks, including claiming that America’s support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins.”

In a now-deleted tweet, Omar called Israel “evil.”

“Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel,” she tweeted.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top Democrats are now struggling on how to handle the situation. Rather than condemning her words, Pelosi on Thursday argued she didn’t mean to be anti-Semitic.

"Her words were not based on any anti-Semitic attitude,” Pelosi said.
