One of the liberal hosts of “The View” is leaving the show amidst growing tensions and on-air fights that have pushed the all-female discussion panel back into the national spotlight. Meanwhile, the sole conservative host Meghan McCain is being told to “lighten up.”

Sara Haines, who has been a regular host on the show since 2016, is calling it quits in order to host a different ABC show, according to Fox News. The former pop news anchor will be co-hosting the third hour of “Good Morning America” with Michael Strahan.

Haines seemed overjoyed with the new gig, expressing on Twitter, “Ahhhhhhhh!! Not even sure I can find the words to adequately express how excited I am to sit next to @michaelstrahan as we embark on this new journey at @GMA #GMADay...it is (and has been) a dream of mine for a LONG time. It’s bittersweet though as I leave @theviewabc, a place I have called home for the past couple years. A huge thank you to all the viewers and fans who have followed me along the way. I LOVE my View family, but don’t worry, my brand new *view* is literally down the street.”

While not as antagonistically liberal as “The View” hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar, Haines hasn’t been a friend to conservatives, either. In fact, the political makeup of the panel seems to assume that the vast majority of women in America are liberal. Only one conservative — the daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) — is allowed to sit on the panel on a day-to-day basis, and she’s considered to be far more Republican establishment than President Trump supporter.

There’s little hope a second conservative will be invited onto the show to take Haines’ place. Goldberg drew renewed ire from conservatives when she became unglued while interviewing Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro, a staunch Trump supporter.

Goldberg once again proved that the female-focused show is making little effort to reach out to the massive number of conservative women in America. Especially in recent years, the discussion panel has presented liberal viewpoints as common sense and ridiculed those who don’t agree.

Meanwhile, McCain is being advised to “lighten up a little” by former co-host Sherri Shepherd, who appeared on the show from 2007 to 2014.

According to Aol, Shepherd said, “She just has to evolve. She has to get used to sitting there at that table,” implying that McCain just needs to shut up and conform to the views of all the liberals on the panel.

“I think she has to not take the whole Republican world on her shoulders. It’s too much to take that whole world. It’s like, you are not the Republican voice,” she added, ignoring the fact that McCain feels compelled to stand up for Republican views when she’s the only one to fight back against daily attacks on Republicans and conservatives.

“It makes you stressed. It makes you tense," Shepherd warned. "So, I think just being able to lighten up a little.”

Thankfully, there’s little chance McCain will.
