It seems like any positive related story regarding any Republican figure will get twisted by the liberal media these days.
The viral image of former President George H.W. Bush’s service dog “Sully” lying down next to the casket appears to be the latest target.
One writer for the left-leaning publication “Slate” wrote the following:
“The photograph, in other words, is not proof that Sully is a particularly “good boy” or that “we don’t deserve dogs,” as countless swooning tweets put it on Monday. On its own, it says almost nothing other than the fact that Sully was, at one point in the same room as the casket of his former boss. This is simply a photograph of a dog doing something dogs love to do: Lie down.”
Really? A selfless service dog can’t give us all the feels? How desperate does the left have to be to downplay an emotional photograph of a dog and his master?
Sully spent his Sunday night lying next to the former president’s flag-draped casket in Houston.
Jim McGrath, spokesperson for the Bush family, tweeted out a picture of Sully still faithfully serving at his master’s side with the caption “Mission complete.”
Sully even has his own Instagram page where the same picture and caption was shared.
Sully is a 2-year-old Labrador retriever and is named after the pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger III, who heroically landed a passenger plane on the Hudson River after striking a flock of geese on takeoff.
Sully was trained by America’s VetDogs, which trains service dogs for veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders.
