Sen. Maxine Waters (D-CA) continues to embarrass herself and the Democratic Party every time she has something to say. This time, at a meeting with the California Democratic Party’s women’s caucus, she talked about Trump “embarrassing us every day” in Europe.
“He’s over there supposedly meeting on NATO. He doesn’t know a darn thing about it,” Waters said. “He doesn’t even understand what GDP is. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t even know how to spell his own wife’s name.”
“He tells us that he’s such a patriot, (that) he loves the flag,” Waters continued. “But he doesn’t know the words to the Star Spangled Banner. So just forget him. He lies every day.”
Last month, Waters called for liberal supporters everywhere to harass members of Trump’s administration whenever they are seen in public outside the Wilshire Federal Building.
Hear what she had to say in the video below.
“For these members of his Cabinet who remain and try to defend him, they are not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they are not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they aren't going to be able to shop in a department store,” Waters said.
“The people are going to turn on them, they are going to protest, they are going to absolutely harass them,” she concluded.
On Monday, Waters responded to her comments on MSNBC. “I did not call for harm for anybody,” said Waters. “The president lied again.”
“But let’s not talk about that. Let’s focus on the children. That’s what this is all about,” she continued. “It is about the fact that children have been snatched from their parents’ arms.”
“They don’t really say I’m out of line. What they do is try to find a way talk about civility without attacking me or anybody else as the leader of the Democratic Party, I expect that she would do everything that she could to make sure nobody believes that Democrats are out here harassing anybody or causing any violence,” Waters said in regards to Nancy Pelosi’s denouncing of Water’s comments.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called Waters’ behavior “unacceptable” in a post on Twitter.
