Sen. Maxine Waters (D-CA) unleashed a hate-filled speech outside the Wilshire Federal Building on Saturday.
Waters called for liberal supporters everywhere to harass members of Trump’s administration whenever they are seen in public.
Hear what she had to say in the video below.
“For these members of his Cabinet who remain and try to defend him, they are not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they are not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they aren't going to be able to shop in a department store,” Waters said.
“The people are going to turn on them, they are going to protest, they are going to absolutely harass them,” she concluded.
Many people were appalled by her statement, including key figures in the Democratic party. Sen. Chuck Schumer addressed Congress on Monday, calling Waters’ comments un-American.
Even Nancy Pelosi joined in, calling Waters’ behavior “unacceptable.”
President Donald Trump also responded on Monday via Twitter.
“Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party,” said Trump.
“She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!”
