The atmosphere on “The View” got extremely uncomfortable on Monday when Meghan McCain made co-host Joy Behar literally go silent with rage.
McCain began by criticizing liberals who pretend that there is no crisis at the border.
“This is a hard-line issue for people who live in border states,” McCain said. “Many friends of mine, this is the number one and only issue.”
She continued: “And if we sit here and act like there isn’t a crisis, it’s crazy people living in border states that think there is a crisis, that is a winning ticket for Trump moving forward.”
Behar interrupted to claim the U.S. needs to keep immigrants “happy” in their own countries by buying them houses and taking care of them.
“Give them a house, give them food, help them, help their children,” Behar said.
“Give a Nicaraguan a house?” McCain asked incredulously.
It was at this point that the conversation derailed, resulting in one of the iciest stares in live TV history.
“Hold on, I listened to you, let me just finish,” Behar said.
“Yeah, part of your job is to listen to me,” McCain shot back.
Behar did not like that one bit, and the audience let out an audible “ooh” at the remark. It got so uncomfortable that co-host Whoopi Goldberg had to intervene.
“Here’s what’s not going to happen today — we’re not going to do this,” Goldberg said. “Everybody gets to say their piece, and we don’t need to comment if we don’t like what they’re hearing, just let folks talk.”

Goldberg then asked Behar to finish her thought, to which she replied, “I forgot what it was now.”
Even CNN had to address the painfully uncomfortable moment:
The look on her face says it all.
