First Lady Melania Trump broke her silence on illegal immigrant family separations at the U.S.-Mexico border in a statement on Sunday, saying she “hates to see children separated from their families.”
The first lady also challenged lawmakers in both parties to do their jobs and pass immigration reform.
“Mrs. Trump hates to see children separated from their families and hopes both sides of the aisle can finally come together to achieve successful immigration reform,” the statement said. “She believes we need to be a country that follows all laws, but also a country that governs with heart.”
Melania Trump, originally from Slovenia, is the perfect example of an immigrant who entered the country legally and took advantage of the opportunity in America.
The non-controversial statement from the first lady sent disgraced comedian Kathy Griffin into a full meltdown.
“F**k you, Melanie,” Griffin tweeted. “You know damn well your husband can end this immediately…you feckless complicit piece of sh*t.”
President Trump has also called on Democrats to join Republicans in enacting meaningful immigration reform. On Monday, the president blasted Democrats for being "weak and ineffective" on border security and crime.
Griffin’s career still hasn’t recovered after she infamously took part in a photo shoot while holding a fake bloody, decapitated head of President Donald Trump. She was blasted for the disgusting stunt by people on both sides of the aisle.
Griffin initially apologized for the stunt, only to take it back months later during an appearance on "The View."
It seems she still hasn’t learned anything from the experience.
