First Lady Melania Trump made a secret trip to in the Washington-area on Tuesday. Her only objective was to meet face-to-face with the men and women who have sacrificed so much for their country.
The first lady arrived unannounced at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to visit wounded service members. The White House only announced her trip after she had arrived.
The first lady’s spokesperson, Stephanie Grisham, confirmed the unannounced visit in a tweet.
"@FLOTUS has just arrived to @WRBethesda for an unannounced visit to combat injured service members & their families. This administration will never stop supporting our men & women in uniform & the families who love them,” Grisham tweeted. “Thank you!!!”
Melania Trump later tweeted several photos from her trip.
“I had a wonderful visit to @WRBethesda today. Thank you to the many dedicated service members & medical staff who take such good care of our men & women in uniform,” she tweeted.
Seriously, the photos are awesome.
The look on both of their faces shows how important the visit was to service members.
It's not the first time the first lady has shown her gratitude to America's heroes – and it definitely won't be the last.
Melania Trump recently spent five days at Walter Reed as a patient when she underwent kidney surgery for a benign condition.
