The MRI results for the 5-year-old boy who was violently thrown from the third-floor balcony at the Mall of America are leaving doctors stunned.
Mac Hammond, the pastor at the family’s church, gave his congregation an update on the boy’s condition in his Easter sermon — and there is so much to thank God for in the case.
"There was zero evidence of brain damage, there wasn't even swelling," Hammond said. "No spinal cord injury, no nerve damage, no internal injuries that were life-threatening.”
While the boy, Landen, did suffer several broken bones, one doctor said his injuries looked more like the result of falling off a bicycle than falling three stories in the massive mall.
“One of his attending physicians said this, ‘This is truly a miracle. … It’s like he fell off a bicycle instead of the third floor of a mall,’” Hammond added.
Praise the Lord!

The GoFundMe set up to pay for his medical bills has now raised $963,608 and is quickly approaching the $1 million goal.
“Landen has a very long road to recovery ahead of him,” the fundraiser states. "He suffered life threatening injuries, many people who fall from that distance aren’t as lucky to make it. He has many surgeries ahead in his life to try to get back to a normal life for a young, vibrant boy. We started this GoFundMe for their family to help cover the immense medical costs and rehabilitation costs for the long ahead. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to hear about their story.”
Fortunately, the suspect responsible for the heinous act, 24-year-old Emmanuel Aranda, is charged with first-degree attempted murder and will face justice.
