Democrat Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar ignited fury this week when it was revealed she argued “some people did something” on 9/11, instead of acknowledging that radical Islamic terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people.
“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” Omar said during a CAIR fundraiser last month.
Watch the video below:
Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas), a former Navy SEAL who lost an eye in combat, demolished Omar for her remarks.
"First Member of Congress to ever describe terrorists who killed thousands of Americans on 9/11 as ‘some people who did something.’ Unbelievable,” Crenshaw tweeted.
Omar later accused Crenshaw of inciting violence against her for quoting her own words.
But none of the responses were quite as powerful as that of the New York Post.
The Post plastered a gut-wrenching image of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and included the headline: “Here’s your something.”
Just take a look:
This is just the latest controversy for the freshman Democrat. Omar has repeatedly made anti-Semitic remarks and used anti-Semitic tropes to criticize the nation of Israel.
Democrats planned on condemning her words, but ended up chickening out and passing a resolution to condemn all hate speech without even mentioning Omar's name.
