Earlier this week, Chase Bank decided to impart a little bit of common sense to its account holders: be thrifty.

In turn, they got lambasted so severely that they ended up deleting the tweet and apologizing for it. Many of the people complaining seemed to be of the socialist persuasion.

Right on cue, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) piped up with a critical tweet of her own:

“You: Why is my balance so low?

Economists: Bc working Americans haven’t gotten a raise in 30 years despite unprecedented growth; & living costs have exploded.

Chase: Maybe if you skipped that Dunkin on April 22nd you‘d be able to afford your RX meds. That’s how that works right.”

But after Ocasio-Cortez called out Chase, Americans called her out in reply.
