Times Square in New York City is one of the most visited spots in the world, and for a third time now, prominent billboards on display there are mocking socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).
“Hey, AOC, you’re the ‘boss’?” one read
“The American PEOPLE are the boss,” the one below it said.
The billboards, by the Job Creators Network, were referring to a tirade the young congresswoman went on recently where she screamed, “I’m the boss!”
“I just introduced Green New Deal two weeks ago, and it’s creating all this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried,” she told an audience at a New York Hall of Science event late last month. “Because no one else has even tried!”
“So, people are like ‘Oh, it’s unrealistic; oh, it’s vague; oh, it doesn’t address this little minute thing,’” she said mockingly. “And, I’m like, ‘You try! You do it! ‘Cause you’re not’”
“So, until you do it, I’m the boss!”
One of the Job Creators Network’s goals since Ocasio-Cortez released her Green New Deal and drove Amazon’s second headquarters out of New York is to fight socialism and those who promote it in America.
“Once a fringe ideology, socialism has taken root in our universities,” the group said in a statement. “The ideology has since creeped into our country’s media, cities, states, and the halls of Congress. To stop this rising flow, Americans need to stand up and tell the truth — that socialism results in failure, poverty, hunger, and gross abuses of human rights.”
“Hey, AOC, the Green New Deal Stinks,” one billboard said.
“Maybe it’s those farting cows? LOL. Cost of GND = $51,000,000,000,000. (Now that’s a lot of zeros)” another one read.
$51 trillion is on the low end of estimates. The American Action Forum put their estimate at $93 trillion.
Before that, the network put up a billboard in response to the Amazon debacle that said, “25,000 lost NYC jobs. $4 billion in lost wages. $12 billion in lost economic activity in NY. Thanks for nothing, AOC!”
