Package Bomb Suspect Identified After Three More Packages Found Friday

News broke Friday morning that a 56-year-old man had been arrested as a suspect in a string of “suspected explosive devices” sent to a number of prominent Democrats.

DNA evidence was used to identify Cesar Altieri Sayoc. Some news sources are saying he’s Native American.

According to CNN, Sayoc was arrested in Aventura, Florida, north of Miami, He has a business address in Plantation, not far from Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’ congressional district.

Schultz’ return address has been on many of the packages with suspected pipe bombs addressed to highly influential Democrats. Her name has consistently been spelled incorrectly on the packages, and one of the packages actually got sent to her office after it was incorrectly addressed to former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Authorities say Sayoc has a connection to New York City, the destination for several of the suspected bombs. Video footage of the suspect’s van showed it covered in what appeared to be political stickers.

Multiple people on Twitter claimed to have taken photos of the van on a previous day. The van in the Twitter photos is covered in pro-Trump, anti-Democrat stickers and appears to be the same vehicle connected to Sayoc, judging by the number of similar stickers and replacement.

Three more suspicious packages were discovered on Friday.

According to Bloomberg, a suspicious package addressed to Sen. Cory Booker’s  (D-N.J.) office was found in Florida. The package is said to resemble the others.

The same is true of a package sent to former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who served during the Obama administration. It was found at a New York City post office and was addressed to Clapper at CNN headquarter’s address, much like the one sent to CNN earlier this week with former CIA Director John Brennan’s name on it.

Shortly before noon, news broke that Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) had received a suspicious package at her Sacramento, California office. A package discovered near her building — which also houses the San Diego Union-Tribune — earlier this week did not appear to contain a pipe bomb.

Billionaire Democrat donor George Soros, former President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.), former Vice President Joe Biden, and Hollywood actor Robert De Niro have also received similar packages.
