A striking photo of two migrant children sleeping in a holding cell at the U.S.-Mexico border was going viral over Memorial Day weekend, and many people were quick to blame President Donald Trump.
However, it quickly emerged that the photo was actually from 2014 — when former President Barack Obama was in office.
Several big liberal names, including Women’s March leader Linda Sarsour and former Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau, posted the photo without context, leading many to believe Trump was somehow to blame for the treatment of the children.

Many Trump critics shared the photo to attack the president, who has been tough on illegal immigration.
However, just seconds of research shows the AZCentral.com article and photo are both from 2014, well before Trump was elected president.
It seems some are so eager to attack President Trump that they are willing to push demonstrably false information in the process. This is a clear-cut case of "fake news."
