A new NBC/WSJ poll reveals whose negative rating jumped more during the government shutdown between President Donald Trump and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi — and Democrats aren’t going to like the results.

“Pelosi’s negatives shot up during government shutdown more than any pol // now the most unpopular politician tested in the survey,” National Journal reporter Josh Kraushaar reported.

If you want to know who is winning the public relations battle over the border wall battle, just look at the numbers more closely.

President Trump’s “very negative numbers” held steady, while Pelosi’s negatives outpaced her positives by 19 points, a larger gap than Trump at 12 points, and even Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) at 18 points.

Conservative Review put it bluntly in its report: “Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is more unpopular than both President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.”

President Trump recently struck a short-term deal with Democrats to fund the government for another 3 weeks. After that, Trump expects Congress to pass funding for border security.

“21 days goes very quickly. Negotiations with Democrats will start immediately. Will not be easy to make a deal, both parties very dug in,” Trump tweeted on Monday. “The case for National Security has been greatly enhanced by what has been happening at the Border & through dialogue. We will build the Wall!”

He added: “We have turned away, at great expense, two major Caravans, but a big one has now formed and is coming. At least 8000 people! If we had a powerful Wall, they wouldn’t even try to make the long and dangerous journey. Build the Wall and Crime will Fall!”

Democrats may have underestimated who they are negotiating with.
