President Donald Trump released a Memorial Day Message on Monday honoring America’s fallen military heroes.

In a video posted on social media, the president told a personal story about meeting a young boy named Christian Jacobs at Arlington National Cemetery. The little boy was dressed in full military uniform — and Trump quickly learned why.

"He was special. He was standing fully in a uniform. His father was a great man to him, and he was a great man to me," Trump said in the video. "And Christian was standing over his father’s grave saluting. It was something I’ll never forget."

Trump then reminded the entire nation the true meaning of Memorial Day.

"On this Memorial Day, I know that everyone is remembering the fallen soldiers who have paid the ultimate price for our country. And it’s a country we all love," Trump said. "As Americans, we come together to remember our great heroes on this Memorial Day."

President Trump also posted a Memorial Day tweet celebrating all of the progress America is making thanks to the sacrifices of the men and women who gave up their lives so the country could remain free.

"Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today," the president tweeted. "Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!"

May we never forget the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.
