London Mayor Sadiq Khan vowed to teach President Donald Trump a liberal lesson if he ever chooses to visit London. Khan, a Muslim, has been open about his anti-Trump views.
However, it seems that the Queen of England is not on the same page with him.
In fact, the Queen didn’t even send Khan an invite to President Trump’s state banquet at Buckingham Palace. She did invite other Labour leaders though.
“Labour’s Mr Khan was left off the guest list by the Monarch, despite announcing he would be happy to meet the American,” the Express reported.
A spokesperson for the London Mayor recently confirmed the snub to Newsweek. “The mayor has not been invited to the state banquet,” the spokesperson said.
President Trump previously lambasted Mayor Khan over London’s knife attack epidemic, despite having draconian gun laws.
In return, Khan vowed to "show" Trump London's values if he should ever visit.
"If he comes to London, President Trump will experience an open and diverse city that has always chosen unity over division and hope over fear," Khan previously tweeted. "He will also no doubt see that Londoners hold their liberal values of freedom of speech very dear."
It looks like he won't get the chance to tell Trump anything as he wasn't even invited to the state dinner. It looks like the Queen stands with Trump.
