Special Counsel Robert Mueller submitted his final report from the Russia investigation to the Justice Department on Friday, recommending no new indictments and vindicating President Donald Trump.
Liberals did not take the news very well. However, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow may have taken it the hardest.
Well, that’s an understatement. Maddow actually cried on the air over the Mueller revelation. She also continued to suggest that there is information that is being kept from the American people.
“At this point it’s only Bill Barr who is speaking on Mueller’s behalf. Robert Mueller, at this point, is still publicly silent, as he has been from the very beginning,” Maddow said.
You can watch the video (and some colorful commentary) below:
Don't worry, Maddow is still holding out some hope!
Others, like Fox News host Laura Ingraham, noticed just how upsetting the news was to the mainstream media.
CNN's anti-Trump legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin was forced to admit on the air that the Mueller report is "very good news" for President Trump.
“Let’s be specific. This is really good news for a lot of people around Donald Trump. Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, Jerome Corsi, the writer who had a draft indictment presented to him by Mueller’s office and they decided not to go forward with this. Let’s be fair here,” Toobin said.
He added: “There has been a lot of suspicion around certain people. And a lot of negative things have been said and imputation of criminal activity. Mueller has said, ‘I am not proceeding.’ There is no better news to receive than you are not being indicted by the United States government.”
It's like election night 2016 all over again.
