Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee revealed the part of the story that “hasn’t been told” regarding his daughter, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders, getting kicked out of the Red Hen restaurant in Virginia.
While trying to enjoy a nice dinner out with her family on Friday, the owner of the restaurant asked them to leave solely because Sanders works for President Donald Trump. It was politics at its worst.
Sanders responded in a tweet on Saturday, revealing that she left politely even though she was mistreated.
“Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so,” she wrote.
However, it seems Sanders was merely showing grace by leaving out the uglier part of the story.
Speaking to Laura Ingraham on her radio show, Huckabee explained what happened after his daughter was asked to leave.
“By the way Laura, there’s a part of that story that hasn’t been told, you’re going to be the first to hear it,” he said.

He continued, “Once Sarah and her family left, of course, Sarah was asked to please vacate, Sarah and her husband just went home. They had sort of had enough. But the rest of her family went across the street to a different restaurant. The owner of the Red Hen – nobody’s told this – then followed them across the street, called people, and organized a protest yelling and screaming at them from outside the other restaurant and creating this scene.”
The former Arkansas governor also revealed most of his daughter’s in-laws are actually “very liberal.” One of them had a message for the liberal owner who was harassing them.
“One of them walked out and said: 'Look, I don’t like Trump. I’m not a supporter. I’m a far — considered liberal — but, you guys are embarrassing me and you’re not helping your cause,’" Huckabee claimed.
He concluded by calling on the left to do some self-reflection when it comes to this kind of “dangerous” behavior.
"This is what the Left has been reduced to — it’s really tragic. And, it is dangerous, and that’s what I think people need to recognize,” Huckabee said.
Sanders also delivered a message to the Red Hen restaurant during Monday's press briefing. You can watch her remarks here.
