President Donald Trump reacted to Beto O’Rourke’s presidential campaign announcement on Thursday in trademark Trump fashion.
“What was your reaction to Beto O’Rourke’s [announcement?” a reporter asked.
“Well, I think he’s got a lot of hand movement,” Trump responded, eliciting snickers in the room. “I’ve never seen so much hand movement. I said, ‘Is he crazy or is that just the way he acts?’”
Trump continued: “I watched him a little while this morning… and I’ve actually never seen anything quite like it. Study it. I’m sure you’ll agree.”
When asked who is the biggest “threat” to his re-election bid, O’Rourke or Joe Biden, Trump dropped the mic.
“I just say whoever it is, I’ll take them on,” the president said.
Watch his remarks below:
"Beto O’Rourke, the 46-year-old former Texas congressman whose near-miss Senate run last year propelled him to Democratic stardom, announced on Thursday that he was running for president, betting that voters will prize his message of national unity and generational change in a 2020 primary teeming with committed progressives," the New York Times reported.
The report added: "His decision jolts an early election season already stuffed with contenders, adding to the mix a relentless campaigner with a small-dollar fund-raising army, the performative instincts of a former punk rocker and a pro-immigrant vision to counteract President Trump’s."
The media so far has fawned over Beto similar to the way it showed love to former President Barack Obama. If the Democrat does indeed end up being the nominee taking on Trump, he will certainly have the liberal media as his ally.
