Limbaugh: Why What Barr is Doing is Super Good for Trump, Devastating for Opponents

The new U.S. attorney general, William Barr, had a bombshell for lawmakers on Wednesday during a Senate Appropriations subcommittee. Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh revealed just why that bombshell is such good news for President Trump and why Barr’s efforts could be devastating for Trump’s opponents.

According to Politico, Barr addressed Trump’s claims that the Obama administration’s FBI wrongfully spied on him during his 2016 campaign for president.

“Spying on a political campaign is a big deal,” Barr said. “I think spying did occur. The question is whether it was adequately predicated.”

In other words, did the Justice Department have a good enough reason to have James Comey’s FBI spy on Trump under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA)? Barr clearly indicated he’d be launching an investigation into the matter to determine that.

“I’m not suggesting that it wasn’t adequately predicated. But I need to explore that,” he said.

Barr was cautious and diplomatic in his wording, but Limbaugh believes there’s true fire behind it.

On his show Wednesday, Limbaugh told his nationwide listeners that his call screener Bo Snerdley asked him, “Do you think there will ever actually be an investigation into what happened, into who did this, who was behind this coup to get rid of a president, overturn the presidential elections and do you think that we will ever see results from it?”

“I do,” the talk show host replied. “I think this attorney general, William Barr, is the guy who’s going to do it. I think that’s why he’s there. And I reminded everybody of the memo that Barr wrote in the middle of the investigation saying that this whole claim that Trump had obstructed, because he fired Comey, was literally baseless.”

“Remember, my friends, when Trump said long ago that his wires were tapped at Trump Tower, remember how everybody started mocking Trump and laughing at him?” Limbaugh continued. “It turns out Trump was right.”

Limbaugh explained that Barr “knows the informants that were implanted into the Trump campaign. The reason this is important, obviously, just the idea of getting to the truth, is that the inspector general looking into the FISA abuse can only talk to people who were there at the moment.”

“He can’t talk to people who are not there who have been fired or who have resigned,” he continued. “Well, many of the people involved in the FISA abuse are gone and may not even be reachable by the inspector general, so this will pick up the slack.”

It’s been theorized that the false claims of Trump-Russia collusion were made up in order to give the Obama administration’s Justice Department a justifiable reason to spy on Trump’s campaign and gather intel.

Limbaugh told his audience that Barr’s investigation could be devastating to the mainstream media as well because “were active participants in this whole scam for this entire hoax.”

He concluded that “the indication from the attorney general that we’re gonna find out about this. We’re gonna look at it, we’re gonna investigate it, and hopefully we’re gonna find out and name names, and that there’s going to severe punishment for this.”
