President Donald Trump hosted business owners for a private dinner at this club in Bedminster, New Jersey on Tuesday night — and one moment stood out above the rest.
Jim Koch, founder and CEO of Boston Brewing company, stood up at one point during the dinner and delivered a bold message about his tax cuts directly to President Donald Trump.
“When I started Sam Adams, American beer was a joke, and it pissed me off,” Koch began. “And now, American brewers make the best beer in the world.”
He went on to explain that the Trump tax cuts are “a very big deal” for American brewers.
Before tax reform, American companies were at a disadvantage when competing with foreign companies, he explained.
“The tax reform was a very big deal for all of us, because 85 percent of the beer made in the United States is owned by foreign companies,” Koch added. “We were paying 38 percent taxes and competing against people who were paying 20.”
Then he dropped a truth bomb on the room.

“And now we have a level playing field, and we’re going to kick their ass,” he said.
The room erupted in cheers and President Trump pointed at the CEO approvingly.
