Liberals were not happy that President Trump dared to trod upon the ground of London. But they had a sheer meltdown when White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted a photo Friday of Trump sitting in Sir Winston Churchill’s chair at the home of the famed British prime minister.
According to the New York Times, British Prime Minister Theresa May had dinner with the Trumps at the Blenheim Palace home Thursday because of the U.S. president’s deep admiration for Churchill. The countries’ leaders enjoyed Scottish salmon and English Hereford beef fillet together.
British ambassador Kim Darroch explained, “We wanted to do something different for the president. We know that he is an enthusiast of Winston Churchill. He’s a big fan of the film ‘Darkest Hour,’ so we thought it would be nice to do a dinner for him at Blenheim Palace.”
But many liberals found Trump’s invitation there, and the photo of him sitting in Churchill’s chair, too much to handle.
And those were some of the more polite Trump critics. Many supporters found the photo awesome, though.
Sanders, who accompanied the Trumps on their visit, posted a couple photos of herself enjoying her time in Britain.
Meanwhile, a protest involving a Trump baby balloon turned into an embarrassing mess. Check out why it went so horribly wrong.
