Senate Democrats humiliated socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Tuesday as not a single Democrat supported her widely mocked “Green New Deal” proposal.

The final vote was 0-57. In attempt to save at least some face, 43 Democrats voted “present” instead of voting “no.”

Ocasio-Cortez responded to the embarrassing defeat — and she actually tried to claim that she “encouraged” them not to vote for the bill.

“Because I encouraged them to vote present, along w/ others,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed. “McConnell tried to rush the #GreenNewDeal straight to the floor without a hearing.”

She continued: “The real question we should be asking: Why does the Senate GOP refuse to hold any major hearings on climate change?”

So, she expects Americans to believe she “encouraged” Democrats not to vote for her own bill? That’s a bold strategy.

Several Democrats, including AOC, now claim that mankind has just about 12 years to get a handle on climate change or the world will be destroyed. Apparently, not even Democrats actually believe that or they would have voted for the $93 trillion proposal from the socialist freshman Democrat.

This has not been a good week for Democrats.
