Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders says we need to do a better job explaining socialism.

Bernie, we wholeheartedly agree!

The aging socialist expressed that during an interview with NPR published Monday. By Friday, someone had come up with the perfect real-world illustration.

Tom Phillips, the Latin America correspondent for The Guardian, posted a picture of how many Venezuelan bolivars it takes to purchase a meal that’s worth about $4.50 in U.S. dollars.

It was staggering.

Asked how long it took him to even count out the correct amount of money, Phillips said it took about 5 minutes.

A local pointed out to him how hard it is for Venezuelans to even get their hands on that amount of cash — the cost of a meal. Phillips agreed.

A BuzzFeedNews correspondent posted a video confirming what Phillips is experiencing in Venezuela and showing a menu board with prices for meals costing over 10,000 bolivars.

Others weighed in as well on the socialist crisis:

Please pray for the freeing of Venezuela!
