A conservative activist pressed assault charges against Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) following an altercation caught on camera.

“When I confronted her regarding her call for targeted harassment of Trump administration officials, Ms. Waters assaulted me 3 times,” Laura Loomer claimed. “She hit my hand to try to knock my phone out of my hand, and then she hit me in the face with her papers twice.”

The activist published her case number as proof that she filed the charges.

Loomer confronted Waters after the Democrat called on her supporters to target and harass members of the Trump administration anywhere they go in public.

"If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd, and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said.

Waters has since been condemned by Republicans and Democrats alike. President Donald Trump even "congratulated" Waters on Thursday.

"Congratulations to Maxine Waters, whose crazy rants have made her, together with Nancy Pelosi, the unhinged FACE of the Democrat Party," he tweeted. "Together, they will Make America Weak Again! But have no fear, America is now stronger than ever before, and I’m not going anywhere!"

Even House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi blasted Waters for inciting her supporters to harass political opponents.

"In the crucial months ahead, we must strive to make America beautiful again. Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable. As we go forward, we must conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea," she tweeted.

Now, Waters has to make sure she doesn't end up in jail.
