President Donald Trump didn’t hold back on Friday when a reporter asked him if he wanted acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker to “rein in” Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
“Do you expect Matt Whitaker to be involved in the Russia probe?” the reporter asked.
“That’s up to him,” Trump responded.
The reporter then took her line of questioning a step further.
“Do you want him to reign in Robert Mueller?” she asked.
“What a stupid question that is,” the president shot back. “What a stupid question. But I watch you a lot, and you ask a lot of stupid questions.”
President Trump then walked away from the microphones as the reporter stood there stunned and the rest of the press corps erupted with new questions.

It was definitely something a mic drop moment.
After Jeff Sessions retired as attorney general earlier this week, President Trump appointed Whitaker as acting attorney general. Democrats have been in an uproar over the appointment due to critical comments Whitaker has made about Mueller.
"Whitaker wrote last year that the Mueller investigation was dangerously close to becoming a 'witch hunt,' and during a TV appearance reportedly imagined a scenario in which the 'attorney general doesn't fire Bob Mueller, but he just reduces his budget to so low that his investigation grinds to almost a halt,'" Axios reported.
The report added: "The N.Y. Times fronts a story by Charlie Savage, 'At Justice Dept., A Boss Who Held Courts in Disdain': Whitaker 'once espoused the view that the courts 'are supposed to be the inferior branch' and criticized the Supreme Court’s power to review legislative and executive acts and declare them unconstitutional.'"
However, the odds of Trump caring what Democrats think is likely close to zero.
