President Donald Trump revealed the extent of his dealings in Russia on Friday amid speculative media reports that Special Counsel Robert Mueller may have something against him.
“Oh, I get it! I am a very good developer, happily living my life, when I see our Country going in the wrong direction (to put it mildly),” Trump tweeted. “Against all odds, I decide to run for President & continue to run my business-very legal & very cool, talked about it on the campaign trail…”
He continued: “Lightly looked at doing a building somewhere in Russia. Put up zero money, zero guarantees and didn’t do the project. Witch Hunt!”
Judging from the responses to his tweet from liberals, the president has really riled up the left.
President Trump was repeatedly referred to Mueller’s Russia prob as a “witch hunt.”
Trump’s defiant remarks come after former Trump attorney Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to lying to Congress.
“Donald J. Trump was more involved in discussions over a potential Russian business deal during the presidential campaign than previously known, his former lawyer Michael D. Cohen said Thursday in pleading guilty to lying to Congress," the New York Times reported.
The report added, “Mr. Trump’s associates pursued the project as the Kremlin was escalating its election sabotage effort meant to help him win the presidency.”
Trump blasted Cohen as a “weak person” in response to the Times article.
“He’s a weak person," Trump said. ”And what he's trying to do is get a reduced sentence, so he's lying about a project that everybody knew about."
